Understanding infertility

Being aware of what impacts on your reproductive health is vital and it is also important to note that same-sex individuals / couples may encounter similar infertility issues as heterosexual individuals / couples. Fertility issues can be caused by a variety of factors including increasing maternal age, lifestyle, environmental effects and medical conditions among others.

Infertility stats

Infertility can result from a male factor in about 30% of cases and from a female factor in about 30% with 30% by a combination of male and female factors and 10% remaining unexplained.

There are treatments available for many infertility problems, so if you are experiencing infertility the sooner you seek treatment the greater the chance may be of successfully conceiving.
